The reaserpent has split from its ancestor and has taken to deeper waters. It now moves freely, weaving through clamreef reefs and slithering along the open ocean floor in search of low-swimming prey. With much of their prey virtually blind, they do not require much camouflage. However, they too are virtually blind, and thus, they had to find other ways to sense their prey. The first sense they have is smell, which occurs in its newly-formed gills, which are filled with olfactory organs. The second is their ability to detect vibrations through a sort of lateral line. Their third- and perhaps their most important sense is electrosensory, which is supported by two bands of electrosensory organs on each side of their body, straddling the edges of their lateral line. They have lost their bulb, as it hindered their newfound mobility. The number of tentacles has been reduced to four. However, they are shorter, thicker, and more powerful- a sort of jaw. At the end of each tentacle is a large, thick, curved, and sharp claw- which facilitates in crushing and stabbing its prey- killing it. They typically will patrol the seafloor, until the detect some form of prey. They will then lie perfectly still on the sea floor. When their prey comes too close, they will lunge up and grab their prey in their jaws, dragging them down to the sea floor to be consumed. Specimens on the slope are smaller- only one meter long, as there isn't as much food, and the only food they have, the scavisus, is very small compared to the prey of the twilight floor. As mentioned earlier, they have now developed gills, which allow for greater oxygen uptake than the small proto-spiracles they possessed before. The reaserpent's mating practices have advanced as well. They now will congregate around Cetivisus falls and mate and lay their eggs in them, providing food for their young. The female will first find a cetivisus fall, and guard it from hungry scavengers, eating anything that comes to feed on it. She will allow males near her carcass, however, if any of them dare to feed on it, the female will eat them. After mating, the female will then guard the carcass, until the eggs hatch.
