The pakarmor split from its ancestor and has further honed its predatory abilities. They now form small pack-like shoals of 6-10 individuals. Their intelligence has increased significantly, allowing them to work together and preform more complex tasks. They communicate by blinking their lights on and off at different intervals. Their method of hunting normally involves surrounding a shoal of forage fish-like groupodispians, forcing them into a ball. The individual pakarmors then dive into the shoal in an attempt to grab one. Their longer bodies and forked tails allow them to swim faster, increasing their chances of catching a groupodispian. Individuals have been known to catch and eat solitary animals, but they don't share it with the rest of the shoal. They don't live in the twilight zone because they use their lights to communicate while hunting. Their blinking lights would give away their position to their prey. Pakarmors are monogamous, only choosing one mate. After mating, the female sticks her eggs onto her partner in order to help keep them safe from filter-feeders. Males become protective of the eggs, lashing out at anything that comes too close. Because of this behavior, far fewer eggs are lost. However, they still lay large amounts of eggs, as many of the fry are eaten by filter feeders.
