After the mass extinction wiped out its earth-like brethren, the Glowvisus found itself among a variety of niches left by its ancestors and cousins. They quickly began to retake them. The gloforage split from its ancestor and now spends much more time in the sunlight zone, primarily in coastal waters. However, they're still rarely found in the twilight zone. Like their ancestors, they form massive shoals that patrol the oceans and feast on plankton. Their color has changed to help them blend in with the ocean. To further this camouflage, they can turn off their bioluminescent lights, only leaving them on to communicate and see each other in the twilight zone. This also helps them save energy and resources, as they don't have to constantly produce bioluminescent chemicals.
