The reefern split from its ancestor and has moved into the North Daturian Reef. Not much has changed other than its roots. Its roots are no longer anchor-shaped. Instead, they branch outwards into the bedrock, breaking through it and anchoring into the reef with great efficacy. because the reef's bedrock is poor in nutrients, the reefern has developed microscopic, hair-like structures that collect microscopic organic particles that are suspended in the water as a supplementary method of collecting nutrients.
