As the cuttlenaut remained on the sea floor for longer periods of time, it began to specialize in eating scavisus by luring them with their bioluminescent tentacles. Eventually, specimens evolved tentacles that were vaguely similar to the shape of the scavisus' body and bioluminescent lights, resulting in the Mimicuttle. Its tentacles are longer, allowing them to grab targets that are further away. They hunt by swimming backwards with their clawed tentacles spread apart from the groupodispian-like tentacles. Thus, a scavisus (or claviscus) would only see the fish-like tentacles. If the target swims too close to the groupodispian-like tentacles, The clawed tentacles will rapidly descend on its target, grabbing and tearing apart the prey. This is more effective on scavisus, as they could potentially want to mate with the tentacles- unlike the claviscus, which migrates to the surface to mate. Combined with their poor eyesight, this makes the scavisus the mimicuttle's main source of prey.
