Habitat: East Peininsular Scrubland
Size: 20 cm Long
Diet: Frugivore (Neakberry, Rampberry), Detritivore
Reproduction: Asexual, Eggs laid under land flora
The armorjaw split from its ancestor and has began to feed on the tougher fruits of the neakberry. It has developed chitinous plates around its jaws to help support its jaws' muscular structure, making its bite powerful enough to chew ripe Neakberries. They still sometimes eat rampberries, but they are usually harder to find because the crawlarmor normally eats most of them. It has developed eyes on the end of their sensory tentacles, which can detect shapes and tell light from dark. This helps them spot predators. The rest of these eye-stalks are covered in hairs that are used to detect sounds. However, this hearing is very crude and is not as effective as their sight. Ever since the evolution of the toungeworm, terrestrial tuckworm species have begun to create defenses for their eggs. The armorjaw now lays slightly larger and more nutritious decoy eggs around the real ones, in hopes that the tongueworm would eat those instead.
