The Digworm split from its ancestor and spends almost its entire life underground. It has lost almost all of its armor, as it impeded their ability to tunnel through the ground. They move and behave in a similar fashion to earthworms and feed on just about any form of decaying matter it comes across, as well as dung. They are now coated in a layer of mucus to help them slide through the soil, however, this makes them heavily reliant on water, and only live in the wetter regions of the scrubland. They have kept the armor on their jaws, as they need it to provide an attachment point for their muscles. Their legs and eye-stalks have been modified into sensory tentacles, and they have lost their eyes, as they have little use when burrowing underground. Another reason why they lost their eyes is because they kept on getting damaged by rubbing against the top of the digworm's tunnels. They have been known to spawn en masse inside of abandoned slythdigger burrows. This is because most burrows are occupied by nocuturmanders, which will eat the digworm if they're present.
