The cragbounder split from its ancestor and moved up into the mountains. The have adapted to the mountains' treacherous slopes. Their robust neck and shoulder muscles help them leap up the sides of mountains and they have developed spiky dewclaw-like structures on their feet to prevent them from slipping. Their skin has become darker to retain heat at higher elevations. They have developed sharp incisors that allow them to shear chunks of tough mushrub flesh and better pluck crucimount discs off their citinous stems. Their lungs have grown larger, allowing them to make use of the smaller concentrations of oxygen found at higher altitudes.
