Habitat: Lichbreaker beach forests (Far Northeast Datura)
Some Spicapill, rather than lose their dense fur and adapt to the newly tropic climes, migrated far north into the icy areas that they were much better adapted for. There they found the Lichbreaker, a food source without competition. They have adapted their mandibles for sawing into the plates of Lichbreaker and become well adapted to herbivory, though they will still feed on carrion if it is available. As a secondary adaptation to the cold, they will process the antifreeze fluid in the Lichbreakers into their bloodstream to make it through the harshest winters and prevent freezing to death. Their fur has become hollow to trap warm air, and it has become very dense as well. Their feet have rough pads to grip ice and help clamber over wet Lichbreaker. While they are not proficient swimmers, they can hold their breath for prolonged periods by slowing down their metabolism slightly and can absorb a small amount of oxygen from the water through their furless chin and their bare forelimb. Their tails also serve to store fat, and have lost the paddle-shaped tip. They are larger than the Spicapill, and commonly reach lengths of eight to ten centimeters.
