Ancestors and Descendants
|
A descendant of the alltacle, the spirinticle has adapted to the world's new climate. Due to the lowering heat and atmospheric ash, aquatic oxygen levels have decreased immensely. To combat this, Spirinticles have developed a simple spiracle to pull in as much oxygen as possible. It can also be used to push water out as a means of chasing fast prey or blowing holes in the sand to rest in. They commonly patrol lakes and rivers around eastern North Datura. At 10 centimeters in length, they are apex predators of these shallow inlets.
