Taxonomy
Ancestors and Descendants
Ancestor: Sardvisus

Creator: Bufforpington

Habitat: One of the river systems in Middle Datura

Size: 4 cm Long

Diet: Filter-Feeder, Detritivore

Reproduction: Sexual, eggs laid in pits dug in river/lake sediment

The sardiguppy split from its ancestor and has moved into one of Middle Datura's river systems. It lives in enormous shoals, feeding on various microorganisms and bits of floating detritus. They have become brown on top, which makes it blend in with the brown sediment from above. Its belly is lighter colored, helping it blend in with the sky when viewed from below. However, its camouflage isn't very reliable when viewed from the side. This is especially the case in males, which sport brightly colored patches on their bodies which they use to attract mates. Ultimately, its primary defense is safety in numbers. The sardiguppy has developed pectoral fins and an anal fin to help stabilize it while it swims.
