Taxonomy
Ancestors and Descendants
Ancestor: Psittacrush

Creator: ZoologicalBotanist

Size: 20 Centimeters Long

Habitat: North Datura-Aladreeladon Polar Coast

Diet: Carnivore (Sea Flaplet)

Reproduction: Sexual, eggs laid in nests among rocks.

As the sea flaplet moved north, the psittaicer moved with it. They adapted to the colder temperatures by becoming stockier, and they also developed antifreeze proteins in their blood. Psittaicer are even capable of freezing solid for up to a week and surviving! Their tail has become stronger, enabling them to pursue sea flaplets as they attempt to escape. Their coloration has changed to a dark grey with light grey streaks for camouflage. The bioluminescent portions on their fins changed to a dark blue to make them less conspicuous at night. Mating happens during the day in the summer months. Males will perform elaborate dances while flashing their fins, showing off the bioluminescent portions. Females will then pick the most impressive male and the two will form a monogamous pair for the year. The pair will find a suitably rocky area and create a nest in a secure, protected location. The pair will take turns guarding the eggs, one hunting nearby and the other at the nest. The eggs hatch near the end of the mating season and are cared for by the parents until the next mating season.
