As the beaches of Middle Datura were filled with pralm species, some travelled further inland. Along the wetter, coastal regions of the East Peninsular Scrubland, the umbrellapralm split from its ancestor and along with the nonotower forms a rainforest. They compete with the nonotower by using their long leaves to block out the sun, preventing competitors from growing too close.
