After the palmarrow took the temperate beach and rainforest, they began to spread south. They flourished in the warm, constant climate. However, there are a slew of issues with living in the West Gemstar-Skwidbox Tropical Beach. The beach is located next to dry environments- something that does not bode well with the water-loving palmarrow sporophyte. Thus, Tropical Palmarrow sporophtyes are typically found near the ocean, as their roots can only reach so far. They have grown much taller, allowing them to tower above their competition. Their fronds face parallel to the ground and are longer, allowing them to shade competing plants with greater ease. However, the gametophytes have changed far more than the sporophyte. They are taller and their endoskeletons are far more extensive and complex, providing better support. Their storage sacs are far more internalized, looking like a pair of fin-like lobes when deflated, and bulbous swellings when inflated. These sacs are connected to a central sac in the center of their bodies that consists of a winding network of tubes and sacs- with each sac containing short, stubby gills that can make the most of even the slightest amount of moisture. This allows it to travel further inland for longer periods of time- allowing them to avoid their only predator, the hexarak. However, they cannot avoid the hexarak forever, and they will eventually return to the swash-zone to refill their storage sacs. Thus, they have developed primitive photoreceptors capable of detecting light and dark that allow them to very crudely detect incoming hexaraks. However, this adaptation is far more effective at making sure they don't run into azild adults, which will reach out with their tentacles to consume the gametophyte. Their feet are far wider, allowing for them to walk in sand with greater ease. Their proboscis is now sharpened in a similar manner to a syringe. They use this to feed on the blood or sap of its food. It capitalizes on the cardleaves and their descendants that live further inland. When the time comes to mate, the gametophytes will gather in the swash-zone to mate. However, both gametophyte and sporophyte reproduce in the same manner as their ancestor.
