The tongueworm split from its ancestor. Due to there being so many tuckworm species parasitizing the flora in the East Peninsular Scrubland, They have switched to eating the poorly-hidden eggs of land tuckworms. They have developed a long, sticky tongue to help them gather as many eggs as possible. Because they don't hide their own eggs very well, tongueworms will eat their own species' eggs. However, due to the speed at which tuckworms reproduce, the tongueworm can't eat all their eggs. This also applies to their own species.
