The Teuthovase split from its ancestor and is found in all temperate and tropical open oceans. They have grown much larger, to the point of having few predators. They have developed a proper method of locomotion, which involves using two siphons on the sides of its shell to propel itself through the water in a similar method to cephalopods. These siphons are connected to two small chambers, which are connected to a pair of muscular tubes that end near the mouth. These chambers are separated from the siphons and tubes with operculums, and the end of the tube is separated from the ocean with a sphincter. It moves by opening the operculum in the siphon to vacuum up water, which starts out as a vacuum. Then, the operculum to the tube opens, but the sphincter remains shut, keeping water from flooding in. Once the water empties into the tube, the operculum to the chamber shuts and the sphincter opens. As soon as the sphincter opens, the water is shot out, causing the creature to jet backwards. Its shell has become conical in order to make it more hydrodynamic. Despite being so large, the teuthovase still has a few predators. It has improved its defenses by replacing two of their tentacles' feathers with hollow spikes filled with neurotoxins. Meanwhile, its feathery tentacles have became sensitive to vibrations. When it senses a predator (or anything, as it cannot distinguish between predator and non-predator) approaches, it will fold its feathery tentacles into its shell cavity, start jetting away from the threat, and start flailing its poisonous tentacles wildly, attempting to strike and poison its attacker.
