Taxonomy
Ancestors and Descendants
Ancestor: Shloslug
Descendants: Tentawalker

Habitat: Datura-Gemstar Reef

Diet: Detritivore, Scavenger

Reproduction: Hermaphrodite, Eggs laid inside of unoccupied hydravase vases, fast breeder

The Tentacrawler split from its ancestor. It has returned to the sunlight zone, and has adapted to the lower pressures. They thrive in the Datura-Gemstar Reef, feeding the corpses of feathervases and visiting species. They also will feed on bits of dead flora that sink to the bottom of the reef, which primarily consists of rotting neakvine bulbs. Their lower tentacles have hypertrophied and the tentacrawler now walks on them. The tentacles are also used to more effectively feel their way along the sea floor. They have also begun to develop photosensitive cells on their upper pair of tentacles, allowing them to distinguish light from dark. They are known for taking refuge inside of empty hydravase vases, as they are a common prey item for predators. Because they are eaten so often, they are rapid breeders.
