Creator: ZoologicalBotanist
Habitat: Gemstar Desert
Size: .5-5 cm long (larva), 7.5-12.5 cm long (adult)
Diet: Cannibalistic (Young) Cardactus, Spiked Cardactus (Fruit, Nectar)
Reproduction: Sexual, Eggs laid inside Cardactus
The polirrack has adapted to a purely herbivorous lifestyle. It consumes the nectar and fruit of the spiked cardactus, playing an important role in its reproduction. Besides the size reduction, the larva has not changed much. The adults, however, have developed two hooks on the end of their limbs. These hooks allow them to climb spiked cardactus without getting injured by the spines. The eggs are laid inside cardactus, like their ancestor, but most of the larva survive to adulthood, due to their reduced size resulting in more space. Cannibalism still happens, but this is only in the young and very rare.
