The Jetclam has evolved ways to escape predators faster than its ancestor, the Cloistaclam. First, Its feeding tube has become wider, allowing it to take in more food. It is also able to shoot jets of water out of its mouth, propelling it backwards. The outside edge of the shell has gained a flattened edge, allowing it to "swim" faster. The ability to move faster has allowed it to colonize the Datura Tropical Sea and the North Datura-Aladreeladon Polar Coast, which it was unable to previously due to the more numerous or hard to see predators.
