Taxonomy
Ancestors and Descendants
Ancestor: Hexamnio

Creator: Bufforpington

Habitat: East Peninsular Rainforest

Size: 25 cm Long

Diet: Omnivore (Ricapill, Chaostower, Umbrellapralm, Nonotower)

Reproduction: Sexual, Eggs laid in nests

The hylamnio split from its ancestor and has take to the trees. Their feet are covered in tiny setae, allowing them to scale vertical surfaces, like trees. They have slightly shrunk in size and have less dense bones to help them remain as light as possible. They primarily feed on the ricapill, the only other arboreal creature in the rainforest. They are also known for supplementing their diet with plant matter, especially when ricapills are scarce. They rarely return to the surface, only doing so to collect fallen umbrellapralm leaves to build their nests. Instead of digging burrows, hylamnios build nests in the canopy, safe from most predators. Like their ancestor, males with bigger nests are chosen over males with smaller nests. The female will guard the nest while the male searches for food.
