This extinction event has been a boon for many of the relictual species. While the False Crinoids have blossomed out, they have grown into stranger forms. As adults, they are completely sessile, with a massive proboscis-like structure, sticking out of their shell. Their shell slowly grows layers upon layers of calcium, in strange and uneven fashions. They expel waste by opening their odd shells, and pumping water in and out. While they aren't mobile as adults, as larvae, they are capable of some movement, resembling their ancestral sand-lurkers. Not all of these larvae survive, for they are often eaten by animals such as Cleaners and Ancients. Due to predation however, they have entered a symbiotic relationship with a form of rather nasty algae. The algae gets a permanent place to anchor itself, and the Crinoid gets protection, from some of its latent toxicity. The Graboid Corals were born.
