Reproduction: Sexual, Eggs

The feathervase split from its ancestor and lives in the eastern tropical and temperate coasts of Datura. They have maximized their filter-feeding potential by evolving dense, feathery filaments. However, because there is no room for anything else, it lost its protective barbs. To make up for this, it developed a vase-like tube that it can hide its tentacles in when something tries to eat them. Because they are sessile, males and females must release their gametes into the water to be fertilized. The few eggs that do get fertilized will hatch into mobile, hoovakletkus-like larvae that will search for a suitable place to stay. Once they find a spot to spend the rest of their lives, they will develop their filter-feeding tentacles, bulb, and tube.
