Cardleaves quickly rose in numbers after the mass extinction, from lack of predators. However, they were restricted to the beaches, and a few species followed the tropical river. Cardflowers are the first real descendant of Cardleaves to fully go inward. They near-fully lost the cuticle, resorting instead to having internal structures very similiar to kitchen sponges to make sure that water doesn't escape it. Its leaves on the stalk decreased, and instead it used a circle of 10 large leaves to absorb most of the light. Besides these, Cardflowers were pretty similiar to Cardleaves. They are close descendants of them, after all.
